The annual Heanor Running Club 10k road race starts and finishes in Shipley Country Park, Heanor. Now in it’s 26th year this race regularly sells out with 1000 runners of all levels of ability.

With the stunning back drop of Calke Abbey, 'the unstately stately home', the Calke Abbey 10K, starts & finishes within the grounds of this beautiful National Trust property.
A fully measured 10K, chip timed road race, will take you, the runner from within the stunning Calke grounds, out onto the surrounding undulating roads, before returning into the tree-lined mile long private driveway and into the finish.
A ten kilometre road race, which takes a scenic routethrough Darley Abbey and Darley Park with hospitality, entertainment, food and drink available before, during and after the race from our race headquarters at Haslams.
The event is held in memorial of a close friend and work colleague Colin Potter, in line with UK Athletic rules, raising money for cancer and bereavement charities. The 4th July 2014 sees our ninth event and we're trying to again make it our best yet!
Race entries are open and beginning to fill quickly. Register early to avoid disappointment.
Race details - 10k run over mixed terrain (open road, quarry footpath, fields) Included will be race numbers, fully marked course, Free post race Tea/Cake to all finishers. Prizes for top 3 male and top 3 female finishers and winners of all Age groups (NB – only 1 prize per participant, i.e. age group winner will be rolled down to next runner)
